THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED "THE WYNN BRESLIN FINE ART HOLIDAY SHOW 2013"

So many of you either responded or attended my show, that I am calling it a huge success.
It is always wonderful to see familiar faces, as well as new folks walking into the Breslin Studio Gallery.  I enjoyed your company. Remember: you are encouraged to pass on the invitations and info to friends and family.

"The Wedge" paintings, large and small were the favorite works, and they sold quickly.
There are a few " Wedge" seasonal paintings left, some small and some large. There are a few VERY LARGE for homes or offices with huge walls left.
Not to worry, there are many framed watercolor, oil, acrylic pieces still available.  If you like Maine, you will see seascapes and landscapes painted to evoke those memorable moments and moods, too.

There will not be another sale in 2013.

You will be able to view my work when the time comes for  "Open Studio Days", which has been an annual event since 1976.  The Holiday Shows are not "annual" shows, due to many factors, especially weather.

My website is still up, so you may want to have a look at some of those paintings, although many are sold now.(I do not know how to take them off that site yet.)  www.wynnbreslin.com

Until springtime, please email me or phone and let me know if you want stop by. I will respond back via phone or email as soon as I can.

For those of you who came and purchased a Wynn Breslin original or limited print, I hope you are enjoying your paintings!

Best Wishes to all for a Happy Holiday Season.

Wynn

MANY THANKS TO SO MANY OF YOU THAT ATTENDED THE 2013 WYNN BRESLIN FINE ART OPEN STUDIO DAYS!

Yes, my Open Studio Days were very well attended.  Thank you all for coming and bringing your friends, too.

This year  The News Journal, The Newark Post, and The Cecil Whig newspapers covered the Breslin Art Event.
Their wonderful photos showing Wynn in the Breslin Studio Gallery , and their great interview skills and writing really helped folks learn about me, and many ventured out to the event. I really do appreciate all those who came from the press and did such excellent coverage .  I enjoyed meeting you all, and I thank you.

Visitors came in with the various newspaper articles in their hands, and I found out that several people have never known that my Open Studio has been going on since l976.  A couple of people, who had purchased my paintings years ago, actually greeted me with: " I thought you were dead!" ( At this writing, I still have no good come back answer for that statement....)

I enjoyed meeting many new art lovers, and some were art collectors.  All  this made for an exciting time, as it would for any artist.
Many people now own an original Breslin or two,  a limited Breslin print, or a piece of my sculpture, or pottery.
I always enjoy the opportunity to discuss my work with others.  For me, the input from visitors made this event a huge success.

This summer I am beginning a whole new group of paintings.   I am starting with an acrylic portrait of my second grandson, Ian, who is two years old.  His brother, Will, who is seven,  received his portrait when he was  one year old.   I have painted most of my immediate family though the years.  My son has a portrait in watercolor as well as his sculpted head, which was done when he was a year old.  There were inquiries, but, sorry, I am not looking to do any portrait commissions or art lessons at this time.

As soon as Ian's portrait is finished, I will begin work in oils, acrylics, or watercolors with other subject matter.  What medium I choose depends on my mood, usually.
Once I begin,  there will be a series in the chosen medium such as oils, only.
This work will be my summer's creative output.

I always get "recharged" while in Maine, so I plan to do some painting there, as I have done since l957.  If you have visited "Wynn Breslin Studio Gallery", you have seen many canvases with Maine themes, hung among flower paintings, collage mixed media, or the landscapes of "The Wedge" area paintings.
If you wish to see a sampling of these paintings, see the Wynn Breslin website, www.wynnbreslin.com.
In fact, if you "Google" my name, you will find more ways to see other works and information.  I even re-read the above mentioned newspaper articles which are presented online, which include their photographs.

Note: There are some "irons in the fire" for a Breslin retrospective show in the fall of 2013 or sometime in 2014.  This will include selections of my newest work.  More on this will be mentioned on a later blog, when I know more details.

Remember, you can email me from my Website : wynnbreslin@wynnbreslin.com

 Have a wonderful summer!

Wynn Breslin Open Studio Days 2013 Off To A Great Start!

Tomorrow and Sunday Open Studio Days!

 June 1 & 2, 2013 & June 8 & 9, 2013

Time 1pm-4pm or by appointment.

Many of my visitors last weekend were welcomed to a show of numerous paintings. I was surprised at how many of you purchased paintings.  It was great to meet you all and I enjoyed the day getting to know you. Thank you for coming.

FYI:
I am discounting all paintings at 1/2 price for the remainder of Open Studio Days,  so, if you need framed paintings for gifts or an original oil or watercolor painting for over the living room couch, here is your chance so choose from over 350 originals and numerous smaller limited prints.

Wynn's  best advice: measure the actual space in your home if you need a large painting. Oils range from 50"x 40" and numerous are larger or smaller.

All paintings are framed and you may change or delete the frame as the frames last.
Watercolors measure 36"x28" largest full size framed painting, to 3x5".  (Paintings and prints are priced roughly according to size, and cost of  framing.)

Terrapin Lane is easy to find and well marked with pylons all the way up Terrapin Lane to Wynn Breslin Gallery /Studio.

Directions:
DE Route 896 (New London Rd.) NORTH, almost to the PA, MD line. Actually, about 1/4 mi north of White Clay Creek State Park.
Look on right side of 896 until you see HISTORICAL MARKER "The Wedge" and turn right onto Terrapin Lane.
Pylons and signs are posted on days of Open Studios.

I am just learning to do Facebook, so you might look me up there also for other
 postings.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

WYNN BRESLIN'S FINE ART OPEN STUDIO DAYS IS ANNOUNCED !

I have been painting the changing landscape of the White Clay Creek Valley of Delaware since 1961. "Wedgeland Collection", is what I am calling this group of oils, watercolors, and acrylics.

Through the years,  I have been deeply committed to sharing the special history of "The Wedge" area of Delaware to visitors. It is unique in U.S. history.  Just before you enter Terrapin Lane coming from the south, visitors will see a Delaware historical marker with its history about this area.

My gallery and studio will be open and free to the public on 3 weekends this year.  I will be in attendance to meet you and to show you around. I will be happy to discuss my paintings and technique as time allows.

The  undeveloped  part of White Clay Creek State Park, and a lovely view of the valley may be seen from my studio.
