MANY THANKS TO SO MANY OF YOU THAT ATTENDED THE 2013 WYNN BRESLIN FINE ART OPEN STUDIO DAYS!

Yes, my Open Studio Days were very well attended.  Thank you all for coming and bringing your friends, too.

This year  The News Journal, The Newark Post, and The Cecil Whig newspapers covered the Breslin Art Event.
Their wonderful photos showing Wynn in the Breslin Studio Gallery , and their great interview skills and writing really helped folks learn about me, and many ventured out to the event. I really do appreciate all those who came from the press and did such excellent coverage .  I enjoyed meeting you all, and I thank you.

Visitors came in with the various newspaper articles in their hands, and I found out that several people have never known that my Open Studio has been going on since l976.  A couple of people, who had purchased my paintings years ago, actually greeted me with: " I thought you were dead!" ( At this writing, I still have no good come back answer for that statement....)

I enjoyed meeting many new art lovers, and some were art collectors.  All  this made for an exciting time, as it would for any artist.
Many people now own an original Breslin or two,  a limited Breslin print, or a piece of my sculpture, or pottery.
I always enjoy the opportunity to discuss my work with others.  For me, the input from visitors made this event a huge success.

This summer I am beginning a whole new group of paintings.   I am starting with an acrylic portrait of my second grandson, Ian, who is two years old.  His brother, Will, who is seven,  received his portrait when he was  one year old.   I have painted most of my immediate family though the years.  My son has a portrait in watercolor as well as his sculpted head, which was done when he was a year old.  There were inquiries, but, sorry, I am not looking to do any portrait commissions or art lessons at this time.

As soon as Ian's portrait is finished, I will begin work in oils, acrylics, or watercolors with other subject matter.  What medium I choose depends on my mood, usually.
Once I begin,  there will be a series in the chosen medium such as oils, only.
This work will be my summer's creative output.

I always get "recharged" while in Maine, so I plan to do some painting there, as I have done since l957.  If you have visited "Wynn Breslin Studio Gallery", you have seen many canvases with Maine themes, hung among flower paintings, collage mixed media, or the landscapes of "The Wedge" area paintings.
If you wish to see a sampling of these paintings, see the Wynn Breslin website, www.wynnbreslin.com.
In fact, if you "Google" my name, you will find more ways to see other works and information.  I even re-read the above mentioned newspaper articles which are presented online, which include their photographs.

Note: There are some "irons in the fire" for a Breslin retrospective show in the fall of 2013 or sometime in 2014.  This will include selections of my newest work.  More on this will be mentioned on a later blog, when I know more details.

Remember, you can email me from my Website : wynnbreslin@wynnbreslin.com

 Have a wonderful summer!
